Frequently Asked Questions
A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a solution of acids to remove dead skin cells and stimulate cell renewal.
The solution is applied to the skin, causing controlled exfoliation that reveals fresher, smoother skin underneath.
- ✔ Improves skin texture and tone
- ✔ Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- ✔ Targets pigmentation and sun damage
- ✔ Helps with acne and acne scarring
Chemical peels can be tailored to suit most skin types, but the type and strength of peel will vary.
During your consultation, we assess your skin to recommend the most suitable peel:
- Sensitive skin: Gentle enzyme or lactic acid peels
- Oily/acne-prone: Salicylic or glycolic acid peels
- Pigmentation: Brightening peels with vitamin C or kojic acid
- Mature skin: Retinol or combination peels
Some peels are not suitable for darker skin tones due to pigmentation risks — we'll advise you during consultation.
Most clients experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during the treatment, which is completely normal.
The intensity depends on the type of peel:
- Light peels: Minimal sensation, like a slight tingle
- Medium peels: More noticeable tingling or warmth
- Deep peels: Stronger sensation (rarely performed in salons)
Any discomfort is temporary and subsides once the peel is neutralised.
Recovery time depends on the depth of the peel:
- Light peels: No downtime — mild redness for a few hours
- Medium peels: 3-7 days of peeling and flaking
- Deep peels: 1-2 weeks recovery (not offered here)
Our peels are designed to fit into your lifestyle with minimal disruption. You may experience some dryness and light peeling for a few days.
The frequency depends on your skin goals and the type of peel:
- Light peels: Every 2-4 weeks
- Medium peels: Every 4-6 weeks
For best results, we recommend a course of 4-6 treatments followed by maintenance sessions every 6-8 weeks.
We'll create a personalised treatment plan based on your skin concerns.
